The Survival
Skills for Healthy Families training is an interactive,
four-day, 32 hour workshop that provides certification for
facilitators to instruct families in their community using
the Family Wellness Survival Skills program. It is
designed for educators, mental health professionals, ministers,
social workers, employee assistance workers, therapists, community
leaders, and others interested in helping families.
In the training you will learn family life cycle theories & structures,
and how to help families change through the use of role play, group exercises,
and coaching. We also teach you how to develop your own Survival Skills series,
funding and marketing techniques, and how to work with an audience.
WHO
USES FAMILY WELLNESS?
Therapists
and counselors use Family Wellness as an effective
tool in negotiating family conflict. Schools
use this program to strengthen families for the
success of their children. Social Services use
this model for family preservation, as well as
child abuse prevention and intervention for court-ordered
parenting. Churches use the curriculum in family
and youth ministries. Other community agencies
use Family Wellness to involve parents with their
children and mentors of like ages to prevent
pregnancy among teenagers.
